Airport drama: Return from Turkey ends in Frankfurt without food!

Vacationers in the Zwickmühle: from Turkey to Frankfurt instead of Saarbrücken!

Jutta Lahm and her sister Brigitte Grimm from Zweibrücken wanted to land in Saarbrücken after a relaxing Turkey holiday on Sunday evening. But fate had other plans! Instead, they had to start twice with their airline SunExpress over the runway from Saarbrücken. The reason? Dense fog swaths! The pilot finally gave the sobering announcement: "We end up in Frankfurt!" A nightmare for the two sisters who were looking forward to returning home.

A long way and no food in sight

After landing in Frankfurt, the passengers waited for their suitcases, but the way to the luggage distribution was a real marathon - especially for the older travelers! "The long distances were an imposition," complained Lahm. But that was just the beginning. Hunger and thirst became noticeable, and many passengers, including diabetics, were in acute danger to pass out. The response from a supervisor of the airline was sobering: "Meals on the bus are not planned." Instead, there were only drinks, and the bus driver knew nothing. A stop for snacks was missing!

A shameful experience

When they finally arrived at Saarbrücken Airport around 10:45 p.m., the sisters were exhausted and hungry. "We had to buy pretzels first," reported Lahm. The seller could only shake her head over the unfortunate odyssey of the two. In the meantime, other passengers who wanted to fly to Antalya with the same machine were provided with food and drinks. The airline SunExpress said that the landing in Saarbrücken was not possible due to the poor view and that an apology for the passengers was not in sight. "Meals are not intended for almost two hours of transfer," said the airline. A scandalous approach to travelers who only wanted to go home after a long day!
