Diversity in the town hall: Culture card and senior citizen assistance on September 18th!

There are important dates on the agenda in Vienna on September 18, 2025. At 9:30 a.m. there will be a media event about the Kulturcard Alsergrund in the Theater Center Forum at Porzellangasse 50. City Councilor for Culture Veronica Kaup-Hasler and district leader Saya Ahmad are present. The Kulturcard, which has been providing inexpensive theater visits for the citizens of Alsergrund for 12 years, also allows access to eleven different theaters in the 2024/2025 season at a price of just 18 euros for two visits per theater.

At 11:00 a.m. there will be a press conference in the town hall on the topic “Stop inflation - relieve the burden on senior citizens!”, at which the focus will be on FPÖ Vienna club chairman Maximilian Krauss and local councilor Paul Stadler. The location of the event is the FPÖ-Vienna State Parliament Club, located on Felderstrasse, staircase 4, on the 2nd floor, room 452.

Cultural offerings for everyone

The Alsergrund culture card will be sent to all households in the district in mid-September 2025. In addition to the Theater Center Forum, the Bronski & Grünberg Theater, the Kabinetttheater, the Pygmalion Theater, the Schauspielhaus Wien and many other theater companies on Alsergrund are also listed as participating institutions. This initiative is supported by the Alsergrund district council in order to make art and cultural offerings affordable and accessible to everyone. Employees at Alsergrund also have access to this card.

The reopening of the WUK Performing Arts is also an interesting addition to the landscape of cultural offerings. This card not only provides financial relief, but also promotes the regional cultural scene.

Variety of events

For seniors, an event entitled "Forgotten? Dementia?" will be held on September 18th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. offered in the Liesing library. This event takes place on the occasion of World Alzheimer's Day and is intended to be an important contribution to raising awareness about dementia. A total of 99 events are planned in Vienna for September 2025, covering a wide spectrum.

After September 18th, various courses are also planned, such as the English A1++ course at the VHS Simmering. These courses provide both educational opportunities and social interactions for the city's seniors. The cultural and educational offerings are part of a larger commitment to improving the quality of life of older people.
