First legal cannabis harvest in Berlin: a milestone for members!

in Berlin, Green Leaf Society has legally distributed cannabis to its members for the first time. This represents an important step in the context of the community cannabis cultivation, which has been possible since the change in law in Germany. Each member receives a harvest share of ten grams and additional, registered needs. A total of 50 out of 70 members registered for the issue this weekend, and around two kilograms of cannabis were harvested for the first edition.

The Green Leaf Society is the only club in Berlin that has approval for the community cultivation of cannabis. The location of the extension remains anonymous for security reasons. The Marzahn-Hellersdorf district approved the application of the association at the end of August and described it as exemplary, especially with regard to the speech of problematic consumers. The health and youth protection concept comprises about 40 pages.

Details on membership and planning

The members of the association pay 89 euros per month for the ten grams of cannabis. With additional needs, more cannabis can be reserved, if available. A gram of cannabis costs around 8.30 euros, plus VAT. The association plans to expand the acreage from the second half of the year if the need increases. New members should also be admitted from February; There are already 250 inquiries about receiving the license. The Green Leaf Society attaches great importance to a balanced membership structure.

had already taken place in Lower Saxony and Rhineland-Palatinate, which could pave the way for legalization in other federal states. The steps of the Green Leaf Society could thus serve as a model for similar initiatives in other regions that are also interested in legalization.
