Clan member Back in Berlin: Deportation planned despite asylum application!

An explosive topic is causing a stir in Berlin: a clan member who returned to the capital illegally is to be deported immediately despite applying for asylum. Interior Senator Iris Spranger (SPD) has made it clear that the “multiple and intensive offender” should be “repatriated” as quickly as possible. In a meeting of the Interior Committee of the Berlin House of Representatives, she emphasized that all criminal law measures must be fully exploited. “We are also deporting this person back to Lebanon,” she explained urgently.

The man belongs to an Arab-born clan that is active in Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia. He had previously been convicted in Berlin and then deported to Lebanon. But in October he managed to return to Germany - supposedly with the help of a smuggler, over Syria, Turkey and the Bulgarian border. Spranger pointed out that the man was not registered in any other EU country, which would have excluded responsibility for his asylum application. One assumes an unauthorized entry because there was an entry lock. CDU interior politician Burkard Dregger spoke of an already "quick rejection" of the asylum application.

Schleuser networks and border controls

The head of the Berlin Immigration Office, Engelhard Mazanke, said the laws were clear: when a ban on re-entry and obviously unfounded asylum applications, people could be rejected at any external border of the Schengen area. "The question is at which border is how intensively controlled," said Mazank. The case shows how dangerous and professionally organized smugglers operate, which has obviously happened in this special case. The situation remains tense, while the authorities check all options to ensure security.
