Beierl misses bronze at the exciting European Bobsleigh Championships in Lillehammer!
At the two-man bobsleigh European Championships in Lillehammer on Sunday, Laura Nolte from Germany and her partner Leonie Kluwig prevailed and not only secured the title, but also the World Cup victory. The two relegated the German teams Kim Kalicki/Leonie Fiebig and Lisa Buckwitz/Kira Lipperheide to second and third place, although they were only a fraction of a second apart. The Austrian Katrin Beierl took the ungrateful fourth place with her pusher Christania Williams and missed the bronze medal by just 0.19 seconds laola1.at reported.
Overall, the Austrian bobsledders were present in Lillehammer under the eyes of numerous spectators, but there was no participation in the men's foursome. Beierl was also able to prove himself in the individual with a seventh place, but the team for the coveted precious metal failed to materialize. Lea Haslwanter from Austria also didn't do well among the women and ended up in 24th place out of 26 participants krone.at reported. While the German athletes were beaming, the Austrian bobsledders and especially Beierl were disappointed about missing the podium.
