In Germany, the early Bundestag election 2025 is imminent, which was necessary due to the currently existing challenges. On December 27, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier approved the dissolution of the Bundestag and the planned new elections. In view of the urgent need for a government -capable government, the decision was made to counter the diverse challenges such as economic uncertainty, energy policy, climate crisis, social justice, migration and global conflicts.

In Bavaria, the election notifications will be sent from January 13th. Citizens entitled to vote have the option of voting on February 23, 2025 or applying for postal voting documents. In Kaufbeuren in particular, the local editorial team of the Allgäuer Zeitung wants to collect the opinions and thoughts of the citizens before the election. For this purpose, the editorial team invites you to a conversation on January 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Allgäuer Zeitung stand in the Sparkassen-Passage (Kaiser-Max-Straße). In addition, there is the possibility to submit contributions in writing by email or post. These submissions can be published in the Allgäuer Zeitung.

Citizens who have not received no election notification by the 21st day before the election (February 2, 2025) should contact the responsible municipality immediately. There is also the possibility to view the electoral register, which can pursue necessary questions about the eligibility.
