Bergheim: Construction of a hydropower plant for more ecological energy!

In Bergheim there are significant construction projects that pursue both ecological and economic goals. According to a report by Orf Salzburg , the municipality plans to make Fischach passable to its origin in Wallersee for fish. Mayor Robert Bukovc (ÖVP) announced that a fish promotion in connection with the local hydropower plant should be realized. A financial framework of around four million euros is required for the project. Due to the future energy generation, the municipality wants to reduce its electricity requirements and buy less electricity, especially for large consumers such as the ice rink and the swimming pool.

However, the construction also brings considerable challenges. The construction company has to work in a confined space on the Salzach, where the main tamper canal and high-pressure earth gas pipe are also located. To avoid damage to the channel, sensors are installed that monitor the pipe on vibrations. Civil technician Guido Wölfle emphasizes that special construction techniques, such as vacuum water stops, are used to secure the construction pit. Despite the technical challenges, the Bergheimers are optimistic that the power plant is not only ecologically but also economically sensible.

better. These orders are not only a sign of trust in local companies, but also an opportunity to increase the quality of the services, while jobs for people with impairments are secured at the same time. Bukovc emphasizes that collaboration with a professional partner like the GWS is crucial to promote social peace and fairness as an employer in the community. This is particularly important with regard to the increasing responsibility of the municipality to implement sensible projects that focus on humans, nature and region.
