Sports honors in the Stendal district: Talents shine at the award ceremony!
Last Friday in November, the district of Stendal shone in the shine of sport! At the ceremonial awarding of sports promotion prices in 2024, 21 outstanding talents and committed volunteers were honored in the training center of the Kreissparkasse. District Administrator Patrick Puhlmann, together with prominent representatives such as René Schernikau, Carola Schulz and Jörg Achereiner, presented trophies, documents and flowers to the radiant award winners. The band "Ole & Eddi" provided the musical accompaniment of the evening.
"Now is the time to prepare for Christmas at home, but we celebrate sport!" Puhlmann called in his rousing approach. He emphasized the importance of popular sports, which serves as a foundation for the development of talents. "We are a sports region, and we owe this to the many coaches, referees and volunteers who are tirelessly committed," he emphasized and called for recognition for everyone who is committed to sport.

The first award went to Robin Rademacher from the Stendal Athletics Association `92, which noticed through its impressive competition services. Karl Schulz from RSV Stendal 07 was honored for his German championship title, while the volleyball players of the Stendal VV caused a sensation with creative videos on social media. Samuel Steger and Charline Riep were also awarded for their remarkable contributions in volleyball and gymnastics.
The bowler Emely Hanke, who successfully defended her title at the German Youth Championships, and Dominique German from SG Post Stendal, who shone in table tennis, were also awarded. In addition, those responsible for the 1st Jiu Jitsu Association Saxony-Anhalt received recognition for their impressive club development and the organization of championships. A special highlight was the honor of the Schönhoff family from SV Prussia Dobberkau for their decades of club work.
An unexpected moment of the honor came as Heike Diesing, the youth keeper, was awarded a special prize for her extraordinary commitment. "She is a woman in sports in all cases," praised KSB honorary member Siegfried Wille. The evening ended with a warm thank you to all supporters of the sport in the district of Stendal, who play an important role in the sports landscape.
