Housing in Vorarlberg: SPÖ demands immediate building offensive!
Laimgrubengasse 10, 1060 Wien, Österreich - In Vorarlberg, the topic of affordable living space is again in focus, especially with regard to non -profit housing. Mario Head, the club chairman of the SPÖ, sharply criticized the inactivity of the state government. "There is a massive gap between supply and demand," he said, while the government does not live up to its responsibility and firmly operates in the so-called stand-by mode. The SPÖ has therefore made a comprehensive request to the country to determine the current situation of non-profit apartments in the communities, such as ots.at reported.
Head emphasized that an increased non -profit residential building would not only help low -income households, but also had a positive impact on rental prices in the region. Today, almost 50 percent of tenants provide more than 40 percent of their income for housing costs in Vorarlberg. Head is therefore demanding a determined action by Governor Wallner and a targeted building offensive to counter the tense housing market. "The previous government had clear goals, but ÖVP and FPÖ only leveled them," he noted critically when he pointed out the need for an effective residential construction program. In fact, the question remains unanswered how the Vorarlberg population can be relieved of the persistently high housing costs, as well as vorarlberg.orf reported.
