The family of a British couple living in Iran has reiterated its determination to “ensure their safe return”. It remains unclear when Iranian authorities arrested Craig and Lindsay Foreman, but Iran's state radio reported their detention on security-related charges on Thursday.

The couple's last posting, which took them on a motorcycle trip around the world, was from the beginning of January. A statement released by the British Foreign Office on behalf of the family addressed the worrying fate of Craig and Lindsay Foreman. “This unexpected turn of events has caused significant concern for our entire family, and we are intensely focused on ensuring their safety and well-being during this difficult time,” the statement continued.
Family involvement and cooperation with authorities
The family said it is “actively working with the UK government and relevant authorities to manage the complexities of this matter.” She added: "We are determined to ensure their safe return. We are very grateful for the support we have received from friends, family and the wider community, which gives us strength and encouragement during this difficult time."
Meeting of the British ambassador with those arrested
British Ambassador to Iran Hugo Shorter met the two British nationals on Wednesday at the prosecutor's office in Kerman, the provincial capital, Iranian news agency IRNA reported. She stated that further details about her case will be announced later, as the Kerman prosecutor's office said. IRNA also published a photo of the meeting showing the British ambassador, but their faces were not shown and their names were not published.
