Forced prostitution in Linz: Police smash brutal business with women!

A cruel crime now runs to the last corners of Austria: over a dozen women have suffered from the yoke of a Hungarian pimp ring for years. The State Criminal Police Office has now moved a decisive blow to this gang. In the past five years, the women who, according to the police are largely drug -dependent, have been recruited in Hungary and were deported to Linz and Wels by force to be forced to prostitution there, such as Today. reported.

cruel conditions for the victims

The women concerned had to work in illegal brothels and hotels under cruel conditions. They strictly monitored their “watchdogs” and prescribed what services they had to do - often without the opportunity to protect themselves. They immediately had to hand over the wages they received to these watchers, which they also provided with drugs, especially amphetamines. According to the police, this perfidious manufacture has so far brought the perpetrator a profit of at least 850,000 euros, which illustrates the scope of exploitation, such as Meinzirk.at explained.

The decisive breakthrough in the investigation came at the end of November, when the police were able to arrest a 46-year-old Hungarian who worked as a watchdog shortly before her return trip. When searching for an illegal brothel in the center of Linz, the investigators encountered two of the exploited women as well as small amounts of methamphetamine and cash. At the same time, further arrests of suspects took place in Budapest after a European arrest warrant had been issued. The 46-year-old is now in custody, while the investigation is continued.
