Tullnerbach: Surprising coalition between the People's Party and the SPÖ!
After the recent elections, a new political entity has formed in Tullnerbach: the People's Party (ÖVP) and the Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) have joined forces to form a coalition. At the constituent meeting, Paul Porteder from the ÖVP was unanimously elected as the new mayor, while Birgit Jandrasits was also appointed as deputy mayor without a dissenting vote NOEN reported.
The National Council elections also brought notable changes. Although the ÖVP remains the strongest force, it suffered a severe setback and lost 12.87 percentage points, resulting in a vote share of 27.87 percent. The Freedom Party (FPÖ), on the other hand, celebrated a significant rise and was able to take second place with 20.25 percent, an increase of 10.08 percentage points. The SPÖ improved by 5.02 percentage points to 19.69 percent and also caught up with the NEOS in the race for votes, which grew to 14.69 percent Courier reported. The Greens, on the other hand, experienced a decline and fell to a share of the vote of 8.65 percent.
Voter turnout in Tullnerbach was remarkably high at 82.16 percent, meaning a total of 1,791 votes were cast, of which 1,783 were valid. These numbers already include all postal votes received on time, while votes arriving later are evaluated separately at district level and no longer influence the municipal results. These developments paint a dynamic picture of the political landscape in Tullnerbach.
