From the willingness to help to crime: Burgenlander in the ATM scandal!

This happened shortly after getting to know each other with one of the gang members on January 14th. It was then even driven to the Czech Republic to obtain materials for the explosions.

The explosions

On January 21, an unprecedented attack occurred when the gang blew up a total of four ATMs in the Alt-Erlaa Kaufpark in Liesing. The damage amounted to 1.3 million euros, while the prey was only 90,000 euros. The perpetrators escaped on scooters that were later discovered in the Draschenpark. Because of her fear, the Burgenland woman refused to drive the men to Germany, which finally put her in an even more difficult situation.

After the arrest of two gang members in Germany, she was asked to pick up her mother's vehicle in Frankfurt. In the end, she only received 2,000 euros for her services, while a large part of this money was used to the return of the car. It was arrested on March 14th. She confessed and expressed remorse that the whole thing happened in a situation in which it was put under pressure.

The Burgenlander was guilty of severe theft due to the break -in and intentional hazard from explosive agents. She also faces accusations for assault and dangerous threats. She is currently in custody for three months and only has to serve two months. After its release, it is integrated into a probation assistance and has to complete anti-violence training.

As current data show, the number of ATM sprinkles has increased in recent years. Europol continues to warn of an increase in violent raids on ATMs and inform that these modern forms of crime are becoming more and more sophisticated. The Chancellor of the BKA speaks of increased cooperation and prevention measures to stop these developments, which illustrates the urgent need to understand and counteract the dangers that arise from these criminal activities.
