Brunn elementary school: Hecken project awarded as an environmental sensation!
Brunn am Gebirge, Österreich - The elementary school Brunn am Mountains recently recorded a remarkable success in the “Changemaker #nature” project. With this project, a 100 -meter -long hedge of domestic bushes was created, in which over 300 students: inside were involved. The commitment to the protection of biodiversity is supported by the non-profit private foundation "Blühende Austria" and the biodiversity fund of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection.
The headmistress Margot Baier and Katharina Pichler-Lenhart are delighted with the award. Among the well -wishers was also the mayor Gabriele Schiener, who highlighted the importance of such projects for the environment and the local community. biodiversity in focus
The protection of endangered animal and plant species is a central concern of the project. The third funding call from "Changemaker #Nature" ensures that important habitats for protected species such as the dwarf school and the black stork are created on an area of almost 12 hectares. As reports blooming Austria, the project also includes measures to maintain and plant orchards, local hedges and species-rich lean meadows.
In addition to the efforts in Brunn on the mountains, other federal states are also active. In Lower Austria, among other things, a classroom outdoors in Gumpoldskirchen will be set up, while orchards are created in the Weinviertel to promote rare species. In Burgenland, the “Noah’s Arche” project revitalizes a orchard to 3.5 hectares.
biodiversity formation for the next generation
The promotion of biodiversity begins in childhood. As the Bildungserver explains, the early sensitization of children is essential for the dependency of all living beings. Programs such as "Discetics Discover the Biological Diversity" not only offer project ideas, but also materials to convey knowledge about species and habitats. This promotes children's skills to actively participate in sustainable developments.
Innovative concepts in the field of biodiversity formation combine practical nature experience with knowledge and values. Teachers support materials: Inside, raising awareness of biodiversity and their threats and at the same time arouse the children's interest in nature conservation.
