Culture and enjoyment: Student project on mindfulness in the Pustertal
In recent weeks, a remarkable international art and culinary project has caused a sensation in the Puster Valley. This ambitious project, initiated under the leadership of Hermann Rogger, combines art, cuisine and the creative minds of children. The initiative is based on the exciting, untitled pictures by Berlin-based artist Rudolf Draheim, which focus on the topic of “mindfulness”.
What is special about this project is the participation of young students from various educational institutions, including Dobbiaco and the middle schools in Sillian and Kufstein. Inspired by Draheim's pictures, the 11 to 12 year olds wrote poems and texts that reflect the concept of mindfulness from different cultural perspectives.
Creative collaboration in the kitchen
The artistic part was accompanied by a culinary component: five talented chefs, including the renowned award-winning chef Josef Mühlmann from Gannerhof, teamed up with the children to create innovative vegan menus. This culinary creativity has found its expression in a book entitled “Children's Art and Culinary”. It combines Draheim's fascinating images, the students' texts, delicious vegan recipes and even QR codes to melodies by Max Raabe.
The presentation of the book has already taken place in the Rudolf Stolz Museum in Sexten and will also be celebrated in the Hofburg in Vienna on November 8th. On this special occasion, Max Raabe appears personally and delights the guests with his songs. Further book presentations are planned, including in Bruneck, Kitzbühel and Nabeul. A highlight will be the event in East Tyrol, which will take place on December 13th in the Tyrolia in Lienz. Here the students will recite their texts and sing songs by Max Raabe.
Overall, student creativity, culinary skills and artistic inspiration combine to create a multifunctional work that not only stimulates the senses but also promotes exchange between different cultures. This project not only represents a platform for the young generation, but also demonstrates an impressive commitment to promoting mindfulness and creative thinking.
