Rock legend Bryan Adams despite the sleet: I'm freezing, but you're great!

In icy sleet and frosty temperatures, the ski opening in Schladming started on Friday evening with a spectacular concert by Bryan Adams. Around 10,000 enthusiastic fans gathered to see the Canadian rock legend live while they waited in the cold for up to three hours. Adams, who appeared dressed all in white, opened the event with “Kick Ass,” a song from his 2021 album “So Happy It Hurts.” Despite the adverse weather conditions, he managed to get the crowd in the mood with his classics like “Everything I Do” and “Summer of 69”. Steiermark.ORF.at reported.

Adams showed great compassion for his fans and repeatedly ventured from the edge of the stage into the crowd. He put a smile on the audience's faces with a funny lyric exchange in "Please Forgive Me," in which he sang about "cold fingers." His renaming of Schladming to “Slushming” also caused amusement. The 65-year-old was visibly challenged: He repeatedly blew his breath onto his cold hands while playing his popular guitar melodies. With a concert duration of almost two hours, he presented a mixture of new songs and nostalgic hits SN.at recognized as an impressive performance.

The ski opening will continue throughout the weekend, with further performances from Sting and Simply Red. These three days promise to be a spectacular event that is not only an attraction for music lovers, but also brings with it an important economic dimension for the region. Georg Bliem, managing director of the Planai-Hochwurzen-Bahnen, expects an influx of 25,000 to 30,000 visitors and speaks of a value creation of around 7.9 million euros for the region.
