On Friday afternoon, the school center in Zeltweg was the focus of a bomb threat, which is another disturbing episode in a series of such threats. After the Styria State Police Department received a threatening letter, immediate evacuation measures were initiated. The entire building complex was then thoroughly searched before the police were finally able to give the all-clear.
The police received the message on Friday morning, the wording of which was noticeably similar to the previously written threats. This time, this warning message was specifically aimed at the school campus. The executive acted immediately to bring everyone present to safety. Fortunately, no suspicious items were discovered during the subsequent search.
Quiet processes despite a serious incident
The investigation of the affected buildings lasted until midday and, according to eyewitness reports, was orderly and without panic. The police said they are now experienced in such situations. “We know the processes and address the situation accordingly,” said a spokesman for the state police department. These repeated threats are rooted in a worrying trend. Zeltweg was already affected by a similar threat in mid-October, but this time it was directed against the city's train station.
