Leoben in focus: latest news and exciting events from the region
In Leoben there was recently a special honor, which once again shows how talented and committed the students in the region are. Lisa Höbenreich, a 27-year-old graduate from the University of Graz, was awarded as part of the Excellence Awards, who is awarded to the best students for outstanding achievements. The ceremonial award took place in the historic sea shelfchlössl in Graz and, in addition to Lisa, attracted three other excellent students.
With a remarkable grade average of 1.0, Lisa ended her studies in "English and American Studies". Her focus in the master's thesis was particularly revealing: she dealt with the "aging in indigenous literature", especially with the portrayal of older indigenous adults in Canadian short stories. Her study is of great social relevance, which was also emphasized by her professor Maria Löschnigg in the laudation.

The award awarded by the Institutes for English and American Studies at the University of Graz is a valuable confirmation of the commitment and academic performance of the students.
