Clubs help clubs: the rural youth St. Martin inspires the community
In St. Martin im Sulmtal, the rural youth were once again extremely active this year and not only organized their own events, but also supported numerous other clubs in the region. Under the motto “Associations help associations”, the group was present at various events, such as parish festivals and Schlager Night, in order to promote cooperation in the community.
A particularly outstanding event was the raising of the maypole on May 1st, which took place near the church. All citizens were welcome here to celebrate this traditional custom together. The Maypole bench auction, which took place on June 14th in Krempepark, was also a complete success, with two benches being auctioned off. These went to the lucky winners Stefan Brauchart and Alexander Schwarz.
A highlight of the summer events
Another highlight was the Sulmtalter summer night disco, which took place on August 24th in the Kirtahalle. DJ Damster and DJ Meditz from “EventTech” provided a musical evening, while “Evis Imbiss” was responsible for catering for the guests. The rural youth thanked everyone who contributed to this successful event - from the visitors to the sponsors.
The rural youth also worked intensively to preserve the customs in the community. The commitment of members was crucial in keeping the traditions alive, whether through lovingly making palm bushes or tying the Thanksgiving crown. Such activities underline how important cultural customs are to a sense of community.
