Social benefits are increasing dramatically: 1.2 million families benefit 2025!

From January 1, 2025, families in Austria can look forward to a significant increase in their social and family benefits. According to the Federal Chancellery Family allowance as well as other allowances such as the child's deduction and the multi -child surcharge increase by 4.6 percent. This affects around 1.2 million families with 1.9 million children who will benefit from this adaptation. An example: A single parent with two children can expect additional funding of up to 1,140 euros per year. This increase takes place for the third time in a row and is part of the law for automatic inflation adjustment, which has been in force since 2023.

State support increases

The pensions will also experience an adjustment of 4.6 percent in the coming year, which in particular will benefit seniors and recipients of minimum security. For many, this means considerable financial relief. A single parent who works part -time and receives social welfare could also receive up to 1,440 euros per year. This is partly due to a new monthly surcharge of 60 euros per child for single parents with low income, which is introduced as support in the fight against child poverty, how 5min reported.

Family Minister Susanne Raab and Minister of Social Affairs Johannes Rauch emphasized the importance of these measures for the support of families and people with low incomes. The adjustments enable families in Austria to deal better with the increasing living costs and contribute to the fact that everyone in the country receives the necessary financial security to make rounds. The new regulations came into force in the course of the latest inflation data and represent significant progress in Austrian family and social policy.
