Schlumberger wins gold: Historical sparkling wine triumphs at DWWA 2025!
The traditional Sektkellerei Schlumberger from Austria achieved remarkable success at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) in 2025. The company was awarded the first gold medal in the history of the DWWA for the “Austria Grand Reserve 2017” sparkling wine. The big reserve scored an impressive 96 points and is the only Austrian sparkling wine that was awarded gold this year, such as Schlumberger emphasizes.
In addition to this success, the "Schlumberger Sparkling Brut 2022" was awarded a silver medal and 90 points. This cuvée, consisting of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Welschriesling, matures on the yeast for at least 15 months and presents aromas of white peach and fresh mirabelles. Recommended escorts for the Sparkling brood are light starters, fish, light meat and not too sweet desserts.
