Austria's history rediscovered: Fantastic insights from December 27th!

On December 27, 2023, the eagerly awaited second season of the award-winning ORF III documentary series “Austria – the whole story” starts, which is part of this year's Christmas program. This series, which has been on the air since 2023, includes a total of ten new episodes and offers in-depth insights into Austrian history from Napoleon to the end of the Habsburg Monarchy. Each episode is dedicated to particular human fates and highlights central themes such as parliamentarism, the relationship between man and machine and the beginnings of mass consumption, as reported ots.at.

It starts with the episode “Love, Sex and Marriage”, which deals with the beginnings of bourgeois marriage on December 27th at 8:15 p.m., while “The Spinner from England” at 9:05 p.m. addresses the effects of industrialization on the country. In the following days, further exciting episodes will follow, focusing on both historical events and individual fates, including “The Battle for the Street” and “Drama in the Prater”. ORF reports about the elaborate production, which also uses augmented reality graphics and game scenes to immerse the audience in the story.
