Apprentice-speed dating in the casemates: Companies meet talents
A remarkable event was recently held in Wiener Neustadt-the first speed dating for apprentices, organized by the Lower Austria Chamber of Commerce. Around 350 students came together to get valuable insights into the professional world. The event served as a platform where companies and students were able to make initial contacts.
In the event location of Kasematten, 60 companies and 16 schools from the industrial district met here, which includes the districts of Wiener Neustadt, Baden and Neunkirchen. The students had the opportunity to interact with training companies in short discussions and to learn more about potential apprenticeships. This is particularly important because many young people face the challenge of shaping their professional future.
Insights into the professional world
The event was a win-win situation for both sides. Students who are interested in starting an apprenticeship were able to exchange ideas and ask questions directly. On the other hand, companies were given the opportunity to get to know future apprentices personally and present their company culture. In an environment that has relied on personal communication and exchange, the first, decisive contacts were made.
The head of the AMS offices, Mevlüt Kücükyasar, emphasized the importance of such events for the integration of young people into the world of work. It is crucial that young people get insights into different professions at an early stage and thus better coordinate their decisions with the requirements of the labor market. The facilitation of the transition from school to the professional world plays a central role and contributes to ensuring a qualified growth of skilled workers.
Entrepreneurs and representatives of companies such as Diamond Aircraft and F. List were also on site and took the opportunity to present their attractive apprenticeships. The feedback from the students was consistently positive, since many found the event as an excellent platform to reduce their fears and actively search for apprenticeships.
Such a speed dating for future apprentices could prove to be a sustainable initiative to promote contact between training centers and young people. Not only is the need for qualified specialists secured in the long term, but young people are also in a better position to find their dream job.
This event stands out with its direct address and interpersonal exchange. For many of the participants, it was the first step into a promising professional future. More information about this initiative can here be read.
