The Austrian U17 was recently held internationally in the picturesque city of Mödling, and everyone involved can proudly look back on a successful event. After the tournament was classified as a Grand Prix this year, it attracted many talented young players who wanted to demonstrate their skills.

The success of the men's double Shangzu Zhan and Thomas Wiesler, who made it to the final, was particularly remarkable. This performance marks a historical moment because it is the first time that an Austrian mating in this competition got so far. In the semi -finals they defeated the Hungarians set to number 1, but in the decisive game it was not quite enough against the experienced German Sjöblom and Deters.
