Premiere spectacles in the theater festival: celebrate Praterstern and Marigold Hotel!

Praterstern, Österreich - On June 18 and 19 June 2025, the Theaterfest Lower Austria starts with two new premieres. Oe24 reports about the event that starts in the WachauArena milk and is supposed to captivate stories. The summer festival is opened with the premiere of "Praterstern - scenes from our tragicomic life" by Monika Helfer and Michael Köhlmeier. The piece addresses everyday life, great life goals, adventures and the weaknesses of human nature.

The staging will take place under the direction of Christina Gegenbauer and brings talented actors such as Julia Cencig, Wolfgang Lesky, Hemma Clementi, Kajetan Dick and Pippa Galli. The first performances are scheduled for June 18 at 8:15 p.m. and other dates on June 20, 27 and 28, as well as on 3rd, 4th, 12th, 17th, 25th and 26th. Tickets can be purchased via the theater festival website or directly from the box office.

"Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" celebrates its premiere

On June 19, the premiere of the comedy "Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" on Rosenburg will follow. This German -language premiere is based on the novel "Thesis Foolish Things" by Deborah Moggach and tells the story of a group of British senior citizens who travel to a luxurious hotel in India only to be confronted with cultural differences and prejudices. Director Marcus Ganser has gathered a first -class ensemble, including Bigi Fischer and Sylvia Haider. The performance begins at 7 p.m. and will be listed regularly on weekends until August 3, 2025.

The Theaterfest Lower Austria is particularly diverse this year. The program includes numerous events that are entertaining for a wide audience. Additional highlights of the festival are the premiere of the operetta "Die Zirkusprinzessin" on June 21 in the Sommerarena Baden, which tells a humorous mix of confusion around an art rider.
