Young people in the Mostviertel: Together for political change!
The Socialist Youth in the Melk district has dared to make a new start in the last few days and elected a new board. 21-year-old Dennis Gavrau from Mank will now serve as chairman and calls for young people to find a place to meet politically in order to develop a positive perspective in a time full of negative news. "It can be quite difficult for young people these days to have a positive outlook for the future when one terrible news follows another. That's why it's even more important right now to create a place where young people from all walks of life can come together politically," says Gavrau NOEN reported.
In addition, the members of the Socialist Youth were involved in the liberation celebration of the former Mauthausen concentration camp, in which around 250 young people took part, including a delegation from the Mostviertel. Melanie Zvonik, the chairwoman of the Socialist Youth of Lower Austria, emphasizes the importance of inspiring young people from rural regions in particular for political activism. In smaller towns there are often hardly any youth cultural offerings, so the SJ plans to organize events across the board to reach these young people. At the liberation celebration, members showed their activism by holding up a total of 59 signs with “individual cases” of the FPÖ, such as MyDistrict reported.
