Buy locally in Lower Austria: discover diversity and secure the future!
During Advent, the Lower Austrian state government, together with the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKNÖ), calls for people to support regional companies. "The diversity of Lower Austria's businesses is unique and ranges from the bakery around the corner to the local craft business. With every purchase from regional companies, we not only secure jobs," emphasized State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner. This is done as part of the #ichkauflocal campaign, which is seen as an important signal for the regional economy. WKNÖ President Wolfgang Ecker added: “Whoever buys in the region not only gives joy, but also invests in the future of our local businesses.” The appeals are met with great interest as the run-up to Christmas offers an excellent opportunity to support local businesses.
The shopping opportunities supported by the campaign not only offer a special atmosphere during this festive period, but also a wide range of products and personal advice. There are charming shops ranging from small boutiques to regional artisan workshops. In order to visibly promote local shopping, new advertising materials such as exclusive reusable carrier bags were introduced, which can be ordered free of charge from #ichkauflocal partner companies. These bags act as eye-catching marketing tools and encourage customer loyalty. Around 2,600 companies are currently supporting the initiative. OTS reported that the unique opportunity to shop locally during Advent also brings with it special promotions and competitions for partner businesses.
Discover regional diversity
In addition, a new user interface was presented in the WKO company A-Z directory, which makes it easier for customers to find local partner companies. This increases the visibility of companies in the region and allows companies to update their profiles themselves. This innovative tool allows faster navigation to available offers and thus makes it easier to discover the diversity of the Lower Austrian economy. More and more companies are joining the initiative, so the list of partner companies is constantly growing. The call for regional support is clear: shopping locally means not just consumption, but also an investment in the community. WKO has shown the new possibilities.
