Open day: Retzer middle school inspires five elementary school classes
In Retz, an open day was recently held at the middle school, which was organized especially for schoolchildren and parents of elementary school classes. Director Cornelia Dammelhart said that this event should serve as a decision -making aid in order to be able to define the future educational path according to the elementary school.
Five classes from Retz and the nearby community of Pleissing were invited to learn more about the school offer. The school specializes in the focus of "health and social affairs", which should be particularly interesting for many parents.
Interactive stations for young visitors
The students were able to actively participate in eight different stations. In the subject areas such as music, robotics, physics and kitchen, diverse tasks were offered that should promote children's creative and scientific skills. The little visitors received a stamp on their participation passport for each task that gave the whole event a playful character.
Mayor Stefan Lang also took part in the event and showed great interest, which underlines the positive response to school. In recognition, he received a school badge that is reminiscent of this special day.
Increasing number of students at the middle school
In the past five years, middle school has had a remarkable increase in registration. While around 60 percent of elementary school students used to move to middle school, it is now around 90 percent. The number of enrolled students has risen to a maximum of 202. The director attributes this success to modern and innovative teaching methods as well as the diversity of the elective subjects that are offered to the students and are tailored to their interests and talents.
The gratifying development at the middle school shows that parents and students have an increased tendency to an extended educational career. This could have a positive effect on the school landscape in the region in the long term, since good training is the basis for the future life of the children.
