Creative students show: garbage art for a clean environment in Hollabrunn

In a creative event, students from the 4B of the Hollabrunn middle school, under the direction of class board Elisabeth Schüttengruber-Holly as well as the artist Ernst Exinger and Marianne Schiel, showed their artistic talents as part of an exhibition in the Alte Hofmühle. The central theme of this event was "garbage destroyed our environment", a concern that should stimulate the students and visitors alike to think.

The evening started entertaining with the "garbage canal song Manamana" from Sesame Road. Afterwards, the guests were confronted with serious information on garbage: for example, a plastic sack only falls down after about 20 years in nature. The students had designed suitable pictures that were decorated with real garbage and offered as part of a raffle. Two works of art by Ernst Exinger provided additional interest, which stood out from the background of the topic.

Garbage fashion show as a highlight

An absolute highlight of the evening was the spectacular garbage fashion show, in which the students presented creatively designed outfits. There was, among other things, the "whiskas cat" and the "medication lady". The "garbage teacher" also made some laughs when he fled the humorous cardboard twins. Among the costumes were also allusions to celebrities such as "Nespresso-George Clooney" and "Harry Potter", which appeared with a garbage carpet.

The event impressively illustrated how art and environmental awareness can be brought together to sensitize young people to important social issues. The parents' association also provided the physical well -being of the visitors with delicious snacks, which contributed to the pleasant atmosphere.

It remains to be seen to what extent this creative examination of garbage and environmental awareness will initiate further initiatives in the community, As reported www.meinbezirk.at.
