Großstelzendorf focuses on quality and sustainability with its new plate press

In the small community of Großstelzendorf, the Leier Baustoffgruppe recently made significant progress in concrete slab production. A 40-year-old Henke press is being replaced by the commissioning of a state-of-the-art plate press from the Italian company OCEM, which has an impressive capacity of 400 tons. This older machine has produced a whopping 20 million high-quality concrete slabs in its time, which are primarily used in garden design.

Plant manager Markus Heindl expressed optimism about this new investment and described the press as a “game changer” for production. The modernized facility will not only increase production capacity, but also improve the quality of products. “We are setting new standards in the industry with this technology,” Heindl added, pointing to the positive changes the new machine could bring.

Advanced technology and experienced staff

In order to exploit the full potential of the new plate press, the associated washing and handling system was also completely renovated. This was done in close cooperation between the technology group and the Leier maintenance department. Heindl further explained: “The combination of state-of-the-art technology and our experienced team ensures the performance of the systems and increases our efficiency.” Such steps are important not only for production performance, but also for environmentally friendly and resource-saving production.

The investments in the new technology demonstrate Leier's commitment to expanding its production capacity while promoting sustainable practices. “Sustainability is not just a buzzword for us, but an integral part of our corporate strategy,” said Heindl. This shows that the company is not only interested in short-term profits, but also in the future of the planet.

Versatile outdoor products

The new panel press will be used to produce a variety of products including patio panels, step panels and pool copings. These items are particularly suitable for designing gardens, terraces and swimming pool areas, thus helping to beautify the outdoor area.

Overall, the Leier Baustoffgruppe is raising the flag for progress and sustainability in concrete slab production with this innovative system. At a time when environmental protection and efficiency are becoming increasingly important, Leier shows that it is possible to combine the two without sacrificing quality.
