Shaping the future: Youth and professional information at the airport
In the dynamic world of professional orientation, the question arises for many students: What comes after school? In order to provide answers, the annual youth and professional information was organized in the Römerland Carnuntum region. This year the fair took place for the second time in modern Office Park 4 at the airport, where more than 40 different exhibitors and institutions presented their offers.
The diversity of the institutions represented ranged from the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and Borealis to the police, Caritas and numerous secondary schools. A total of around 1,700 young people from all over the district were on site who took the opportunity to find out more about various professional fields. A special highlight of the fair were the interactive workshops and the "Day of the Future", which took place in cooperation with the Bruck energy park. Pupils at the Lanzendorf location were able to experience climate change up close in the event of a hands-on experiments. The fair also offered information on the topic of energy saving, which was also of great importance for young people.
participants were also able to discuss exciting project ideas in the areas of sustainability, circular economy and adaptation to climate change with representatives of the Römerland Carnuntum regional development association. The commitment of this organization underlines how important it is to sensitize young people early on in environmental issues.
In order to expand the knowledge of the students, also workshops were offered that were organized in cooperation with the Austria resource forum and the climate protection academy. One program item was the topic of "circular economy and climate change adjustment in the community", which offered additional impulses for the young participants. Throughout the second day of the fair there were exhibitions on the subject of "Klima & Ich" that strengthened awareness of individual responsibility.
The crowning conclusion of the program was a climate cabaret with the well-known comedian Seppi Neubauer. Under the title "Hot Love", humorous insights into the serious topics of climate change were given, which contributed to both entertainment and information.
The high participation and the comprehensive range of the event once again show that promoting environmental awareness and vocational preparation for the coming generations is of central importance. Therefore, the professional information is not only a platform for information, but also a step into a sustainable future.
