New search in the Maddie case: BKA combs mysterious ruin!
Praia da Luz, Portugal - The investigation in the case of the missing Madeleine "Maddie" McCann continues. On Tuesday, around 25 investigators from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) were looking for the surroundings of a building in a forested area in Portugal. This extensive search takes place at the request of the Braunschweig public prosecutor and is said to continue until Thursday or Friday. The Braunschweig prosecutor Christian Wolters carefully commented on the expectations of the investigators.
To combat the terrain effectively, the investigators are equipped with a radar that can search the soil down to a depth of 4.5 meters. The search area also includes a former house in which a German lived at times. The place itself, crowded and densely overgrown with trenches and water holes, is a challenge for the investigation teams. Maddie disappeared from the holiday apartment of her family in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007, while her parents were in a nearby restaurant.
status and background
Despite international search and several calls from Maddie's parents, there is no trace of the girl. A German citizen who lived near Praia da Luz has been the focus of the investigation for years. That evening when Maddie disappeared, his mobile phone joined a radio cell near the holiday complex. He is currently sitting in Germany in Germany because of the rape of a 72-year-old American in Praia Da Luz, and his prison sentence is expected to take place in September. Last October, however, he was acquitted in a process of rapes and sexual attacks in Portugal.
The last search in the Maddie case took place two years ago on a reservoir on the Algarve and was unsuccessful. Despite the setbacks, Maddie's parents do not give up hope and reaffirm their determination on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of Maddies.
global children's crazy statistics
The fate of Maddie is not an isolated case. Hundreds of thousands of children worldwide disappear every year. In Germany, for example, around 100,000 children are reported as missing annually. These numbers sometimes reflect inadequate statistics that are inaccurate in many countries. According to various reports, over 53,000 children are reported as missing in France alone. There are around 460,000 in the United States, while in England 112,853 children are considered missing annually.
- France: 53.439
- Germany: approx. 100,000
- USA: approx. 460,000
- Spain: approx. 20,000
- Canada: About 45.288
- Russia: approx. 45,000 since 2015
- England: 112,853 annually
- India: approx. 96,000 annually
- Jamaica: 1.984 since 2015
according to the observations of Missing Children is the interpretation of these global numbers through a lack of official studies and inadequate framework, which in turn is the understanding of the dimensions of the problem.
