From July 1, 2025, extensive increases in fees for various official documents and services will come into force in Austria. changes in the e-card
The annual service fee for the E-Card is raised from EUR 13.8 to 25 euros. From 2026, pensioners will also affect this fee, which causes additional discussions. These changes are part of a more comprehensive budget that the finance minister Markus Marterbauer (SPÖ) presented. In this context, a third of the savings are achieved through revenue increases, which has led to the price increases made, so communitybund.at .
In addition to the increases in the fees for official documents, the deductible for patient transports were also reintroduced. These amount to 7.55 euros for transports without paramedics and 15.10 euros for transports with paramedics. However, certain medically necessary trips remain free of charge.
increase in tobacco tax and other fees
The upcoming increases in fees are also accompanied by an increase in tobacco tax, which will lead to price increases in cigarettes. Philip Morris has already announced that it increases the prices by 10 cents per pack, while similar measures from Japan Tobacco can be expected internationally. In April 2023, court fees were also increased by 23 %, which means additional costs for citizens who have to devote themselves to legal affairs, as reported.
Overall, the planned changes show that the fees for basic services in Austria increase significantly, many citizens are exposed to greater financial burden.
