Marketing revolution: Every second professional has a AI roadmap now!

On June 13, 2025, a current study showed that more than half of the marketing professionals in the roof area (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) has developed a AI roadmap for the coming years. According to the Marketing Tech Monitor , published by Hamburger Marketing Tech Lab, placed this strategic plan. Despite these progress, only 11% of marketing professionals have AI applications that are effectively integrated into operational processes and are in the stage of professionalism and scaling. These findings were presented by Ralf Strauss, the founder and CEO of Marketing Techlab GmbH.

The survey included almost 1,800 marketing and sales professionals and impressively shows the current state of AI integration in the industry. Most respondents already use AI pilots, but are fighting with considerable challenges in complete implementation. In particular, lack of know -how in companies (31%), the complexity and diversity of applications (21%) and inadequate data quality and availability (18%) represent large hurdles.

demand for specialists and educational offers

The importance of AI in marketing is underlined by developing initiatives such as the Ki-Campus . Florian Rampelt, head of the AI campus at the Stifterverband, explains that generative AI tools such as Chatgpt have increased the interest in artificial intelligence. Nevertheless, there is uncertainty about the opportunities and risks of AI in society. The shortage of skilled workers remains a central problem: in Germany there are still sufficient competent specialists who have knowledge.

As part of the AI campus, free online courses, videos and podcasts are offered to strengthen the AI and data competencies in the population. The current initiative, "Ki-Campus 2.0", is to be further expanded by the end of 2024 with the support of the BMBF. The aim is to further train at least 100,000 people by 2025 and to build a strong education system for AI through regional hubs in Berlin, Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia.

long-term visions for AI integration

The study by the Marketing Tech Monitor and the efforts of the AI campus illustrate the common goal of promoting AI skills in the roof room. The long-term securing of the "Ki-Campus 2030" initiative aims to integrate over 100 universities into the educational offers by 2030 and to build cooperative AI innovation and education ecosystems.

The marketing industry is ready to integrate new technologies, but the journey to full implementation is still a long time. The challenges, both in the practical and in the field of education, remain, while the requirements for competencies in the rapidly developing world of artificial intelligence are steadily increasing.
