Cellar fire in Munich: Dramatic smoke after refrigerator fire!

On June 14, 2025, a basement fire in a single -family house occurred in Schondorfer Straße in Munich. Local residents alerted the fire brigade after noticing black smoke from the neighboring building. Several respiratory protection teams were sent promptly to cope with the situation. On site, the emergency services found almost zero view in the basement because the smoke flocked from the basement shafts. A squad gave itself violently to the house and immediately started the fire fighting in the basement.

After the quick alarm and the fire brigade arrived, the fire that had broken out in a refrigerator in the basement could be brought under control within about 15 minutes. No people were found in the building, so that a personal injury could be waived. A total of around 30 firefighters were involved. After deleting the fire, the building was ventilated and made smoke -free before the site was handed over to the police. The cause of the fire and the damage caused by property are currently still unclear.

in parallel to this incident, the Süddeutsche reported that a fire in a six-storey apartment building in Konrad-Threher-Straße in Kleinhadern raged. Here a resident noticed the fire shortly before midnight when he wanted to see what had happened after a power failure.

thick smoke pulled out of the basement shafts and covered the facade of the building. While some people were able to save themselves, others had to be saved by their balconies using a turntable ladder. Despite several efforts to fight the fire over the basement shafts, the intensity of the flames was so strong that the rooms in the basement ultimately had to be flooded with extinguishing foam. The total damage is suspected in the six -digit euro range.

A total of around 20 residents and people in the area had to be examined for possible smoke poisoning, whereby only one person was slightly injured. Due to the heavily damaged electrical installation, the house is uninhabitable and those affected were accommodated at friends or relatives at short notice.
