Carinthian rowing celebrates successes at the Coastal Beach Sprint in Portugal!
Völkermarkt, Österreich - On July 20, 2025, Carinthian rudders achieved remarkable success at the international Coastal Beach Sprint in Portugal. Magdalena Lobnig stood out in particular, who won in one - on her birthday. Ella Leitner and Ina Taufik from the RV Albatros also shone with a silver medal in the youth area. This success brings the two athletes a step closer to the coveted qualification for the Junior European Championship, which will take place shortly.

The success of the Carinthian rudders are no coincidence. At the European Junior Championship in Kruszwica, Poland, the Austrian athletes also won a total of five medals. Paul Schinnerl won gold in the junior one (JM1x) with a time of 6: 46.72 minutes. The junior Vierer team won silver with Franziska Stögerer, Franziska Schmid, Isabella Baumann and Ella Valentina Nader, who completed the route in 6: 35.42 minutes.
Maria Hauser achieved a strong performance and took third place in the junior one (JW1x) with 7: 41.27 minutes. In the junior-two (JW2), Esther Schöberl and Clara Bernhardt also secured the bronze medal with a time of 7: 16.86 minutes. The Junior Echter (JM8+) rounded off the success by securing third place with a time of 5: 36.67 minutes.

The performance of the ÖRV athletes was also praised by the ÖRV national trainer Anna Götz and sports director Kurt Traer in the highest tones. While Schinnerl finished as a dominant winner in the A-final, the team of Stögerer bravely fought to secure the silver medal behind Italy. Maria Hauser, on the other hand, was able to work out to third place in the course of the race.
The positive results at both competition sites testify to the high performance and commitment of the Austrian rowers. The athletes are on a promising path to the upcoming international challenges while preparing for the national championships at the same time.
