Record figures at Lake.Bike Pumptrack: A new highlight in Drobollach

In the picturesque Drobollach, on the banks of the Faaker Lake, a very special leisure activities have established itself in the 2024 season: the Lake.Bike Pumptrack. This newly opened pump track has already attracted over 5,400 enthusiastic visitors in just a few months, which makes the facility one of the most visited of its kind in the Villach region. The first number of visitors exceeds all expectations and reflect the great interest in bicycle sport.

The number of around 600 active visitors in a single day is particularly impressive. "It was clear to us from the start that we wanted to make bicycle sport accessible to the entire population," explains Michael Spanring-Sternig, Managing Director of the Villach tourism association and one of the initiators of this project. The pump track offers a perfectly maintained infrastructure that appeals to both beginners and experienced cyclists alike.

Successful season and outlook

"The high visitor frequency and the lack of complaints are a clear sign that our strategy works," continued Spanring-Sternig. The tourism association Villach plans to continue investing in the infrastructure for cyclists in the coming years. A bike adventure park on Lake Ossiacher is already in the planning and could make the region even more attractive for cycling fans.

In addition to the pump track, there are numerous amenities for visitors. Children under the age of five can be used free of charge, while an inexpensive hourly tariff applies to everyone else. The area is perfectly equipped to offer the guests sporty and relaxed hours. "Our employees are always ready to provide support and provide freewhehouse armor," says Michael Spanring-Sternig.

Enthusiasm for the whole family

A special highlight during the hot summer months is the provision of fresh drinking water and shady spaces. In addition, a spray lever frame ensures a refreshing cooling and makes the pump track experience perfectly for Instagram photos. In the first months of the company, the pump track attracted many families and made a popular meeting place for sports enthusiasts of all ages.

Another plus for cyclists is the free service station of the ÖAMTC, which provides simple repair tools. This ensures that children and adults can cycle equally without worry and with a good feeling. The chairman of the tourism association Villach, Gerhard Stroitz, emphasizes the importance of the offer: "With the pump track in Drobollach, we have brought something unique into our region and the response is overwhelming."

The 5,380. Guest has already been personally received by Stroitz and Spanring-Sternig, including ex-ski racer Carmen Thalmann. These personal encounters underline the family atmosphere on the pump track, which has already become a highlight for many.
