On August 15, 2025, “High Women’s Day,” numerous medals of honor were awarded in the Innsbruck Hofburg. Over a hundred people received awards for their achievements in various fields on this festive occasion. The ceremony was attended by the state governors Anton Mattle and Arno Kompatscher, who emphasized the importance of the day for social interaction. Traditions also played a role: men provided the festive excitement, for example with an honorary volley from the Paznaun riflemen.
Among those honored are notable personalities from East Tyrol. Josef Altenweisl from Obertilliach was honored for his special contributions to shooting. Georg Weiler, who was honored for his achievements in chess, received another honor. In addition, the Johann Senfter family in Innervillgraten received the title “Erbhof” for their farm, which has been in the family for over 200 years. In addition, 22 lifesaving medals and six hereditary titles were awarded.
