Cheap ski passes for spittal children: winter sports for everyone!

The city of Spittal has again started a great initiative to make it easier for children and young people to access winter sports. In cooperation with the Goldeck Bergbahnen and thanks to the support of Mayor Gerhard Köfer, there are discounted ski passes in the 2024/2025 winter season. For children who were born between 2010 and 2018, a day ticket on the Sportberg Goldeck only costs 15.00 euros, while young people (born 2006 to 2009) only have to pay EUR 22.50. Usually the prices are 29.50 euros and 44.50 euros. Köfer emphasizes the importance of this initiative, since skiing is often unaffordable for many families. "This measure promotes movement and access to nature," said Köfer in a statement.

Special framework conditions

In order to benefit from the reduced prices, the young skiers have to apply for discount codes that are given to children and young people with a main residence in Spittal. These codes are available in the city's citizens' office and can then be used in the online shop of the Goldeck Bergbahnen. The following applies: A maximum of three discount codes per season per child or adolescents are issued. The campaign is limited in time and only applies as long as stocks last. The opening times of the citizens' office are from Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., so that interested families can take the chance.

Interestingly, the Goldeck Group, on which the mountain railways are located, can look back on an eventful story. The name "Goldeck" stems from historical gold deposits in the region, which were dismantled in the 16th to 19th centuries. With its first -class slopes and modern lifts, the region is not only a popular ski area, but also a place full of tradition and legends. This mysterious story about the gold mining and the legend of Countess Salamanca, who is rich in stories, makes the mountain region a unique experience, such as sportberg-goleck.com describes in detail.
