Rietz, Österreich - The Rietz volunteer fire brigade in the Imst district recently made a significant modernization of its equipment. On May 26, 2025, two state -of -the -art watercraft, Jet Skis and a new multi -purpose vehicle (MZFA) were put into service as part of a solemn event. This vehicle handover marks the completion of a multi-year project to renew the Rietz fire department, which has been planned since 2009 and was implemented in time for the 150th anniversary of the fire brigade this year. The new equipment will significantly expand the fire brigade capacity and adapted to the special requirements for operations at the Inn.

The new watercraft are from the Seedoo RXT-X RS 300 model and are among the most powerful in your class, equipped with a 300 hp Rotax engine. They have an intelligent braking and reversing technique as well as a self-cleaning pump system that increases the operational readiness. In addition, the Jet Skis are equipped with a 7.8-inch LCD display, a closed cooling system and a variety of safety and comfort features. Particularly noteworthy is the reinforced carbon underfloor, which increases the stability and durability of the vehicles. Thanks to the extensive fire brigade equipment, the new watercraft are optimal for use on the Inn, as they replace an older motorboat that no longer met the requirements.

The new multi -purpose vehicle (MZFA) is based on a MAN TGE 4,180 4 × 4 and has a permissible total weight of 4,200 kg. It offers robust off-road suitability and enough space for location and use equipment. The tactical team room is equipped with a command workstation that makes the coordination easier for missions. Other equipment features include a radio table, a position control system and LED interior lighting that ensures a quick response time during operations. In addition, comprehensive means of communication are integrated, such as a permanently installed motorola radio and handheld radio devices with car charging shells.

At the official consecration of vehicle, which took place on May 18, 2025, numerous guests were present, including State Councilor Astrid Mair, delegations from blue light organizations and the top of the community. This event is a sign of the appreciation of the valuable work of the fire brigade and the support of the community, represented by Gerhard Krug.

The decision to buy these innovative vehicles was made after a comprehensive test phase that put a variety of possible boat solutions to the test before finally deciding on the jets in 2021. These purchases and the associated modernization measures have the goal of significantly improving the operational and maneuverability of the Rietz fire brigade in the river area. Firefighters and experts from the team of the Rietz fire brigade, in particular Christof and Rainer Schuchter, were significantly involved in the preparation and implementation of the project.
