Details about the transfers
Carney Chukwuemeka, only 21 years old, returns to Dortmund after playing at the club in the second half of the 2024-25 season. During this time he played ten Bundesliga games, won eight of them and scored a goal. Before his loan, he signed a six -year contract with Chelsea in 2022 after changing from Aston Villa. In the first half of the season he performed in five games in the Conference League and in the Carabao Cup for Chelsea. In the end, his return was extended until the end of the World Club Championship, at which Dortmund left in the quarter-finals against Real Madrid.
The 20-year-old Aaron Anselmino, who moved from Boca Juniors to Chelsea in August 2024, comes to Dortmund for one year. Anselmino could not prevail last season due to several thigh injuries and only came to two missions with Chelsea's first team, after his return from a loan to Boca.
Future view for the returnees
Both players will play an important role in Dortmund's future plans. The association completed the 2024-25 season with five wins in a row and thus qualified for the Champions League on the last matchday of the Bundesliga. This momentum could be strengthened by the new additions. While Chukwuemeka already has experience in the Bundesliga, Anselmino will have the opportunity to prove herself in the German league.
