Schattendorf invests in the future: New educational facilities for children

In recent months, the community of Schattendorf has made intensive efforts to promote the well-being of its youngest residents. A comprehensive concept is being implemented to improve educational offerings and leisure opportunities. Mayor Thomas Hoffmann informed about the “children's power package” projects, which aim to create optimal conditions for the development of children.

"Our goal is to provide children in Schattendorf with the best possible education and development. Within just one and a half years, we have worked with parents, teachers and the children to create a wide-ranging offering," emphasizes Mayor Hoffmann. In the last few months, a large number of projects have been implemented and are now beginning to bear fruit.

Important projects for the future

The “Children’s Power Package” includes several significant initiatives that promote both education and health. An outstanding project is the construction of a new daycare center, which is intended to strengthen the compatibility of work and family. With this offer, parents can be sure that their children are cared for in a supportive environment.

Furthermore, the kindergarten will be expanded to include a new exercise room and the outdoor areas will be redesigned to create a pleasant environment for the children. A parent-child center will be set up to serve as a communication platform for parents and professionals and offer a variety of activities to support child development.

• Bewegungspark: Auf einer Fläche von 5.000 Quadratmetern werden zahlreiche Sport- und Freizeitmöglichkeiten zur Verfügung gestellt, die zur Bewegung einladen.
• Englischunterricht: Bereits in der ersten Klasse der Volksschule wird verstärkt Englisch unterrichtet, um die Sprachkenntnisse frühzeitig zu fördern.
• Kostenlose Schwimmkurse: In den ersten zwei Schulwochen lernen alle Kinder den sicheren Umgang mit Wasser.
• Erweiterung der Nachmittagsbetreuung: Diese wird jetzt auch auf die Mittelschule ausgeweitet, um Eltern bei der Vereinbarkeit von Beruf und Familie zu helfen.
• Einrichtung einer „Bläserklasse“: In Kooperation mit der Musikschule Mattersburg wird die musikalische Ausbildung ab der ersten Schulstufe angeboten.
• Digitale Volksschule: Die Vorbereitungen für die erste digitale Volksschule Österreichs sind abgeschlossen, und bald werden alle Klassenräume mit High-Speed-Internet ausgestattet.
• Obstsortengarten: Ein neu angelegter Obstsortengarten soll den Kindern die Freude an gesunder Ernährung näherbringen.
• Demokratie erleben: Bei der Anschaffung einer neuen Weihnachtsbeleuchtung konnten die Kinder mitentscheiden, wie ihre Gemeinde festlich erstrahlen soll.
