Huawei and Turkcell: Revolution in the network for smart cities!
At Mobile World Congress 2025, Huawei and Turkcell, Turkey's leading technology company, signed a crucial memorandum of understanding. This partnership aims to develop sustainable and advanced network technologies supported by innovative products and solutions across the extended Turkcell network. The focus is on the development of smart cities, ultra-fast broadband services and the implementation of quantum key exchange technologies, such as diefastmode.com reported.
Companies are leveraging 5G Advanced technology to increase efficiency in areas such as autonomous vehicles, transportation, manufacturing and large venues. To do this, they are testing a range of innovative technologies, including tunnel antenna technology, Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) and Supersite technology, which uses satellites for robust communication. The quantum key exchange technology is also intended to provide additional security in data transmission, while the symmetrical 50GPON technology provides ultra-fast broadband connections, according to detailed information from ots.at.
Future-oriented developments
The technical director of Turkcell, Prof. Dr. V. Çağrı Güngör, highlights that the partnership aims to lead the next generation of network technologies. “Our focus on 5G-A technology enables us to develop intelligent networks that meet the requirements of the future,” said Güngör. Jim Lu, President of Huawei for Europe, also emphasizes the importance of this cooperation: “We are shaping a better connected and more resilient future with innovative, cutting-edge technology,” he explains enthusiastically.
