Wattens' library shines again: A place of encounter and culture!

Wattens shines in new splendor! The Wattens public library has undergone a comprehensive renovation within just six weeks and now offers a modern and inviting environment for all literary enthusiasts. Since 1968, when the library was opened, the furniture and rooms had hardly changed, which was finally fixed with this comprehensive renovation. Mayor Lukas Schmied was enthusiastic: "The new furniture and the renovation of the premises are noticeably good for this learning and meeting place." The library now uses the fresh, renovated rooms that can be used optimally for events, readings and the exchange about books.

The investments of over 100,000 euros were borne by both the market town of Wattens and the parish of Wattens. The municipality provided around 80,000 euros for new book furniture, while the parish provided the renovation of the walls, floors and windows. The library, which is part of local cultural life, not only offers current media such as books, magazines, DVDs and audio books, but also a varied program of readings and workshops. In addition, the committed team of volunteers under the direction of Cornelia Möhring is ready to help readers with advice and action.
