Culture for everyone: Weimar opens doors with project Ent | closed!
Weimar, Deutschland - The Weimar classic Foundation has dared to take a courageous step with its groundbreaking project "Ent | closed" to redefine culture! The aim is to promote cultural participation and reduce barriers - an ambitious plan that is supposed to mix up the regional cultural landscape. This is not just about the content, but also about how they can be made accessible to everyone!
The center of the project includes three revolutionary measures: take partnerships, open rooms and go out! Through close cooperation with actors from culture, social work and associations, programs were developed that are specially tailored to the needs of different target groups. Workshops, readings and concerts took place in unusual places to reach people who have so far had little access to cultural offers.
innovative approaches for more participation
A highlight was the creation of the Colabour, a meeting room that serves as a creative center for the community. Here people can realize their own ideas - be it at the after -work meeting or relaxed events. This flexible ambience opened the cultural space for new target groups and creative approaches!
Another exciting aspect was the introduction of a cargo bike that drives directly into the district as a mobile platform for cultural offers. This concept makes culture visible and accessible, especially for fewer mobile residents. In this way, culture is actively brought to people and new encounters between different social groups are created!
The strengthening of marginalized groups, especially the Flinta people, was particularly important. Through targeted readings, concerts and workshops, these groups received a platform to bring in their perspectives and promote cultural diversity. The measures of "Ent | closed" not only increased participation, but also led to a rethink within the classical foundation. The institution now questions its role and is looking for paths to become more inclusive and accessible!
