Nova Gorica, Slovenia - cross-border cultural capital celebrates opening

On February 8, 2025, the Slovenian city of Nova Gorica and the Italian city of Gorizia started their joint celebration as a European Capital of Culture with a spectacular move. The colorful move, accompanied by brass music, began at the Gorizia train station and moved through the streets through the streets to the train station in Nova Gorica with hundreds of participants. In the evening, a fairytale art spectacle with music and dance performances and DJ parties rounded off the opening festival. In the coming months, over 400 events in the region are on the program, including concerts, exhibitions and culinary events that celebrate the creative strength and cultural diversity of the region.
