Thermenland Styria: Heat lets visitors drop!
Graz, Österreich - In 2024, the thermal baths in Austria were able to record a slight increase in guests, but the data are mixed. According to Industry radar only ten of the 38 thermal numbers opened in 2019 exceeded the number of visitors from 2019, including three in Styria. This shows that Styria remains the leading Thermenland, while other regions such as Burgenland, Lower Austria and Tyrol could only record one thermal bath with increased number of visitors. The unchecked durability of foreign guests caused a slight increase, but long heat periods also had negative effects on thermal baths without generous outdoor facilities.

The concept "Sanus per aquam" - "healthy through water" - is of great importance in the balneological practice. This teaching supports health through regular visits to the thermal baths, which have positive effects on the immune system. Studies show that thermal visits can provide relief, especially for symptoms such as psoriasis or rheumatism. A bathing stay at a pleasant 36 degrees of water temperature also promotes the muscles and ensures a feeling of security, which benefits both physical and psychological advantages. In this way, the thermal baths remain an important goal for those seeking relaxation.
