Pig dog in the zoo: Wiener VHS and Tiergarten Start New Year's campaign!

Tiergarten Schönbrunn, Österreich - The Viennese adult education centers (VHS) and the Schönbrunn Tiergarten have jointly launched a remarkable campaign to start the new year with fresh resolutions. As part of a humorous media campaign, on January 13, 2025, the inner “pig dog” was banished from its own four walls and brought to the Schönbrunn zoo. This animal, which stands metaphorically for self -doubt and sailing, is intended to motivate the Viennese to pursue their New Year's resolutions and to continue their education. As the apaotot , the VHS also sponsors for the more cozy doubts in the zoo, as a sign of personal development without time pressure.

In this campaign, the two institutions want to highlight an important point: the right time to act is now! Tiergart director Stephan Hering-Hagenbeck emphasizes the urgency of species protection and calls for actively supporting the endangered animal species. "For many animal species, it is already five to twelve animals from extermination, is a racing against time," explains Hering-Hagenbeck. The pig dog can now be observed for two weeks in the animal garden's information center, where information about its way of life is also provided in the Wildbahn.
