Kiss Lohr: Sport and fun for children are booming in nine groups!

The TSV Lohr has achieved a remarkable success with its children's sports school (KISS), which inspires both the local community and the children itself. The aim of this school is to convey the basics of different sports to children from 1.5 to 8 years, and without an early specialization. Carmen Greulich, the headmistress and trained psychomotorist, emphasizes the importance that the children enjoy the movement and recognize how well they are active.

In order to obtain approval for the KISS, the association ensured that qualified teaching staff was used and that the lessons follow a curriculum that is based on the children's development phases. The KISS was originally supposed to start with three groups, but the great interest led to nine groups formed. This shows how strong the need for such offers in the region is.

Sustainable demand and growth

In the first year of school, the KISS started with 100 children, and the number rose to 135 to the end, which caused the capacities to be fully utilized. The facility uses various halls in Lohr, including the Spessarttorhalle and the school gymnasiums in Wombach and Sendelbach, which have proven to be ideal for younger children due to their size and accessibility.

Carmen Burk, who heads the KISS, reports that the majority of the children come from different parts of the city. Fortunately, there is no problem with the distribution of the groups because the parents bring their children by car. It is particularly noteworthy that around 70 percent of the children switched to the club's sporting departments after the first year, while only ten percent were registered again by previous participants. This indicates that the KISS serves as a springboard for future athletes.

The enormous demand in the age group of three to seven year olds could be a result of pandemic. During this time, parents particularly perceived the importance of sport and movement for the well -being of their children. With currently 120 booked places and waiting lists for certain age groups, especially three to five years, the KISS has clearly proven that it occupies an important place in the life of families.

Diversity and inclusion in the KISS

Another essential aspect of the KISS is the diversity of the curriculum, which not only promotes motor skills, but also focuses on the personal development of children. Motoric tests are carried out to document the progress of the children, and reflection on one's own skills plays an important role. The children come into contact with various sports and learn to develop frustration tolerance.

It is also important to be the orientation of the KISS, so that children with different needs can take part in the activities. At the moment, children with intellectual impairments are mainly represented, but parents of children with physical handicaps are suggested to inquire about possible offers.

In addition, the management of the TSV Lohr announced several exciting additional offers for the KISS children. These include rhythmic movement offers and video clip dancing, which should strengthen the body feeling and self-confidence of the participants. It is planned that special offers such as the "Heidelberg Ball School" for ball -affine children will also be offered to further promote the sporting skills.

Overall, the development of the KISS at TSV Lohr shows how important and effective early sporting offers for children are. The combination of fun, movement and social integration not only offers the children a great opportunity for physical and mental development, but also creates a solid basis for their sporting career in the future.
