Gabriel Benedek: This is how the Basel singer's new summer hit came about!
The popular Swiss singer Gabriel Benedek has released a special kind of confession of love paired with personal experiences with his new song “Anything”. In the track, the 31-year-old confesses that he wants to do anything for love, although he adds, slightly ironically, that he would only consider the legal options. “I gave up meat for over a year for a woman I thought was great,” he reveals in an interview 20 minutes. Unfortunately, despite his remarkable sacrifices, that relationship ended.
A new phase of life and creative inspiration
Gabriel Benedek finally found a new love during the difficult Corona period, which served as a “baptism of fire” for their relationship. The two had a child, and the singer plans to dedicate a song to his three-year-old daughter soon. In addition to the musical skills he inherited from his father, his Hungarian roots also show how complex his inspiration is. He regularly travels to his grandmother at Lake Balaton, where he creates new creative ideas, often by the water, which offers him peace and relaxation.
His popularity is increasing rapidly: Benedek currently has 36,000 monthly Spotify listeners, almost as many as big names like Anna Rossinelli, and his hit “Leila” has been streamed millions of times. He has been signed to music giant Universal Music since last year, and his first EP will be released later this year. With the new piece “By The Ocean” he shows a lighter, livelier side to his music. The song conveys a feeling of freshness and relaxation and is described by Benedek as a “summer vibe”. The song is about places of return and feeling good, as he explains in the interview in the context of his music, which he combines with melancholic lyrics and a danceable beat.
